some of the expansion films turned out to be “contraction-like”. dunno why. gordon particularly liked the paper roll while jens n alex prefered the dress. all credits go to chunyi and suri for inviting me along go shooting around melb together n helping me develop them. would never have survived the semester w/o them ![]()
happy holidays all! keep shooting n posting!!!!!!!
This is Jun agreeing to pose for my magritte assignment.
my initial idea was to have him sitting on a table, covering his eyes with his hat, smiling, while some of Magritte’s painting subjects like apple, blue naked girl, hollow face man, dancing on the table surrounding him. sounds funny i know, but i really thought it would be good
unfortunately i could not use all these images because something was wrong with my dslr. jun’s face and suit look very grainy in all of them. callum helped me figured out what went wrong (i had my auto ISO settin on, hence the iso 1600!) mark would definitely fail me for this. in the end, with jun’s permission, i use the images for my personal folio instead.
i really think he’s the coolest dude in class!
My first ever fashion shots with local model. Very very nervous. Had to consult with a few guys prior shooting (thanks dean, tiff, matt). brought along my gf for wardrobe management (she carried a briefcase full of dresses we “borrowed” from boutiques in city). my make up artist bailed on me the last minute. he apparently was too drunk the night before thus unfit to come and help
dean was there to assist with the lightings and coreography. he’s just too damn good.
my shooting skill is very rusty and stiff. seriously. i need to learn how to communicate with models on the set, how to make them comfortable in front of camera. so anyone who’s doing fashion shoots in city and could use some assistance on the set, please do not hesitate to ask me! i’d be very happy to assist with anything and will definitely learn a thing or two from u
btw, how much photoshopping is allowed in location brief? i find Gordon a little more flexible on this compared to our previous teacher, Sally.
X.O.X.O (hahaha)
